Easily Add Free To Use Images To Your EverWeb Website!

One of the best features in EverWeb is something that’s free! It’s the ability to add free to use stock images to the pages of your website! You can access over 500,000 images and use them royalty free in your site. When we use the word ‘images’ this includes photos, drawings, paintings and even icons and badges. As you would expect, EverWeb makes it easy for you to access and add the images you want for your site, all in one place!

Accessing EverWeb’s Stock Photos Library
EverWeb’s Free Stock Photo Library can be quickly accessed from the Media icon in EverWeb’s Toolbar. Click on the Media button and you will see two options: Media Library and Free Stock Photos. Obviously in this instance we’re going to choose the latter option!

Alternatively you can access the free stock images feature from the Window-> Stock Photos… menu option.

Searching For The images You Want To Use
Once you have clicked on the Free Stock Photos… option, the Image Search window will open. Once opened, this window will remain open until you either manually close it or quit EverWeb. When you start a new EverWeb session, you’ll need to restart the image search again if you want to add more images.

When you first use the Image Search window, it will appear empty. You will only see the cursor flashing in the Search box. The remainder of the window will be used to display the images that have been retrieved by your search. To begin an image search, simply type in the search term for the type of image that you are interested in. Press Enter to initiate the search.

The results of your search will be displayed below the Image Search search bar. If no images are found, you will see the message ‘No results found’ below the search bar. Remember that you can also resize the window if you want to see more, or fewer, images at a time.

With the images displayed from the search, scroll down as needed, to find an image you would like to add to your page, then simply drag and drop the image from the Image Search window on to the canvas of your page.

Advanced Search Practices
The Image Search feature allows you to use both ‘and’ and ‘or’ when inputting search words. It’s also worth noting that your search results are also dependent on how the images were originally tagged. You may find that you have to refine your search terms occasionally if you get results back from the search that you did not expect. Sometimes it’s better to try alternative search words to see if you get better results.

Additional Tips When Using Image Search
There are a couple of things worth mentioning when using the Image Search window. First of all, it’s possible that the Image Search window can get hidden behind other windows if it’s left open throughout your EverWeb session. If you find that this is the case, simply go to EverWeb’s Window menu and select ‘Image Search’. The second useful thing to note is that you can find your past searches by clicking on the magnifying glass icon. If you want to clear the searches you have done previously in the current EverWeb session, just use the ‘Clear All Searches…’ option.

When using Image Search, you can only drag and drop one image at a time from the Image Search window on to you page. If you have found more than one image that you want to use, simply go back to the Image Search window and drag and drop next image that you want to use on to the page.

And finally, as you add images from the Image Search on to your page, the dropped images will then be available in the Assets List, so you can use them on other pages in your project if you want to.

EverWeb’s Free Stock Photo feature contains high quality images so will give your website a professional look without costing you any money to do so!
