Are You Missing Out On These Great Little New EverWeb Features?

Every new version of EverWeb comes with headline features such as Membership Sites, Lazy Loading Images or new UI tools. In addition to these headline features, there’s always a wealth of small feature additions and enhancements to enjoy. In this post we’re going to round up all of those great little features that you may have missed from EverWeb versions 4.0 through 4.2.1!

Dropping a video on to a page will add a Video Fill shape
Introduced with EverWeb 4.2, this new capability spins off from the new Shape Options: Video Fill feature. Just drag and drop a video file on to your page and EverWeb will automatically create a Shape Options Video Fill for you. Once the video is on the page, go to the Shape Options tab in the Inspector Window and choose the options that you want for your video.

Shape Options Image Fill gains Alignment options Another nice little addition that came to EverWeb 4.2, You can now set your image alignment to either top, bottom or horizontal center as well as to either left vertical center or right aligned.

Choose the jQuery version you want from Site Publishing Settings For some EverWeb users, it is important to set the correct version of jQuery when publishing their website. You can now set the version of jQuery you wan to use from the Site Publishing Settings sreen if you’re using EverWeb 4.2 or higher. To access Site Publishing Settings, just click on the name of your project file in the web page list or use the File, Edit Publishing Settings… menu option. Scroll down to the Head/Footer Code section and check the ‘Use local copy of jQuery’ option. Next select the jQuery version you want from the dropdown menu.

The FlexBox Widget’s Video URL Can Now Be Youtube, Vimeo or MP4 Link
New in EverWeb 4.1 comes an often requested feature for the FlexBox widget – the ability to add YouTube and Vimeo videos To use this feature, simply set the FlexBox widget’s Object Type to Video, then add the link to your video you want to use in the Video URL field of the Video Settings section.

EverWeb’s New Features Tour and What’s New Now In All Supported Languages
EverWeb’s New Features Tour debuted in EverWeb 4.1 but was only in English. With the introduction of EverWeb 4.2, the Tour is now available in all of EverWeb’s supported languages. To access the New Features Tour at any time, just go to the Help-> New Features Tour… menu option.

EverWeb’s What’s New screen, available from the Help menu, now also supports all the languages EverWeb supports as of EverWeb 4.2.

More Alt Text Available in Widgets!
New in EverWeb 4.1, Alt Text was added to the Image Gallery Widget and Responsive Image Gallery Widget. Alt Text is used by those who are vision impaired, and also if the image cannot be displayed in your browser the Alt Text appears instead. A by product of Alt Text is that it may also be of benefit to your SEO as well.

EverWeb Preferences… Becomes EverWeb Settings… If you’re a macOS user, you may have noticed this small change in EverWeb 4.2 as the EverWeb menu option. ‘Preferences…’ has been renamed to ‘Settings…’ for better macOS compliance.

…and Let’s Not Forget The Headline Features!
EverWeb 4.0 saw lots of important new features to the product with the debut of Membership Sites, Global Styles and SEO Check Pages. EverWeb 4.1 added Lazy Loading Images, support for WebP format and Draft Page mode while EverWeb 4.2 introduced copying pages between project files, new UI Tools and and Shape Options Video and Map Fill.
