Continuing on from the first part in this series of building your own iWeb site without themes, this time I have chosen the ‘Gaming’ style of web site to have a go at designing. Taking a look around the Internet it is easy to see how different genres have a similar style in their web design and gaming is no different.

As with all these tutorials, and whenever I design a web site, I like to look at as many web sites that focus on the same theme so as to get some ideas, some inspiration and perhaps even some pointers of what not to do. Read more

Some well-made iWeb sites

One of the reasons we all use iWeb is because it makes building beautiful web-sites simple, and here is a list of some of the more good-looking ones that can be seen on the Internet. Some are designed using iWeb 2.0.4, some with iWeb 3 and 3.0.1 but they all have the same thing in common; the designers haven’t stuck with a standard theme and have instead opted for a bit of individuality. The default iWeb themes are upon first glance, very nice. They are however, few and far between and to make your iWeb site stand out from the 1000s of others using the same theme you need to add an element or two. Simple but effective effects can be achieved just by using many of the freely available fonts that can be downloaded from the Internet.
